Gaelic Football Season

Our boys and girls  were delighted to get the opportunity  to play inter schools football again when the Cumann na mBunscoil  season kicked off in March. Since then it has been an action packed season between mini sevens hurling , camogie and football. Following on from that was the 13 -a- side football for boys and the  12- a -side football for girls.
We had a superb boys mini sevens  team on the pitch in Caherelly on March 22nd. The boys got off to a flying start and were very unlucky not to progress to the next level.
Our girls' team were in action in Caherelly on March 23rd. The girls displayed their exceptional skills and had an unbeaten run in their four matches. With little time to recover the girls were in action again on Friday March 25th. The girls maintained their unbeaten run to become East sevens champions.  Since then our sevens team went on to win both the East sevens semi final and the county title.  Our boys 13 a side team put on a wonderful display in Doon in the boys football  tournament. Our boys and girls played the in hurling and camogie blitzes organised by Cummann Na mBunscoil. On June 14th our girls clinched the county title for ladies football after a thrilling semi final and final in Rathleale.

On March 25th the basketball season began. We have  two really competitive teams in this years inter schools competition. Our boys team enjoyed an unbeaten run until the Division 1 semi final. It was a shame to miss out on a match at the arena. The girls team emerged as the Division One winners  in an incredible display of basketball skills at the UL arena on Friday June 3rd 2022. The team captained by Robyn Walsh notched up an phenomenal score to clinch the title.

Boys and girls from 4th, 5th and 6th class are playing  in school matches as part of the FAI soccer initiative. These matches are being played during lunch break and in the afternoons and building up to  semi finals and finals. There has been some really  exceptional soccer skills and great team work on display throughout the competition.

Our runners  were delighted to get the chance to display their talents when the Limerick Primary School athletics finals were held at the UL track on May 18th 2022. We have a team of 52 athletes running, jumping and running relay races. While we didn't take home the  team trophy there were some incredible team and individual performances among our pupils. It was a wonderful day and enjoyed by all.
