Gaelic Football.

What a season it has been on the football field. From October 1st when the 13 -a -side boys  competition kicked off to December 3rd when the season concluded. Our boys enjoyed an unbeaten run in the 13-a-side competition at the Murroe Boher pitch. The boys, captained by Colm Lane secured a spot in the East final.
The girls team captained by Orla McNamara started their competition at the GAA pitch in Doon on October 9th.The girls played exceptionally well and won all but one of their matches. Our girls also secured a spot in the East final.
The East finals took place in Kilteely on Tuesday October 21st. The Boys and girls played great football but came up short on the scoreboard after two competitive matches
Congratulations to Colm. Finn, Jack, Ellen, Kate, Ailbhe and Orla who were selected to take part in the Sarsfield Cup and Larkin Shield competitions. The girls team went all the way to the final which took place at the Gaelic grounds under floodlights.
The Mini sevens competition kicked after mid term. The Boys team captained by Ashton Quinn and the girls team captained by Ailbhe KIlroy put in outstanding performances in Caherelly throughout this competition in November. Our teams made history making it a double victory for boys and girls both teams emerging as East Champions.
With high hopes and  anticipation our teams travelled to Rathkeale representing the East of the county. After three competitive matches the boys emerged as County Champions. Our girls won the first two matches putting in incredible team performances. The final match was the toughest one and we were narrowly beaten. We are  so proud of all our pupils.

Basketball

in March the basketball season began. We have  two really competitive teams in this years inter schools competition. Our boys team enjoyed an unbeaten run until the Division 1 semi final. It was a shame to miss out on a match at the arena. The girls team performed exceptionally well throughout the competition putting on really fine displays in each of their matches. The girls too were unlucky in their division one semi final and didnt make a final. There were some great mixed matches in school during lunch time and both the boys and girls reached some really high standards of basketball.

Athletics

Our runners  were delighted to get the opportunity to display their athletics skills at the Hall of Athletics event that took place in Mary Immaculate college in March. It was a very well organised event with lots of unusual events planned. Our pupils had a great day out taking part in relays, hurdlles, chest pushes, speed bounces etc. The pupils were very successful arriving back in school with lots of silverware.
We are all looking forward to the Primary school Athletics on May 17th
